Installing Your SmarterSign Player Software

The SmarterSign Player software runs on the computer or screen and is responsible for the playback of your digital signage content. Once installed, you will control the player software from the web based content management system, SmarterSign Manager.

Windows

Download the SmarterSign Player Installer from: https://software.smartersign.com/SmarterSignInstallerV6.exe NOTE: This needs be done on your Player Computer (the computer connected to your digital sign) not on your Manager Computer (the computer you edit content with).

Double click on the the installer file and follow the prompts to install the software. NOTE: You must be logged in as an administrator.

Brightsign

Using a BrightSign device as a SmarterSign Player is a great way to get your content onto your Digital Sign. Follow the steps below to install the software onto your BrightSign Player and get started:

STEP 1 – Download the SmarterSign Player Installer Files

Download the SmarterSign Player files for BrightSign using the link found HERE

STEP 2 – Unzip files and put them on your Micro SSD card

The .zip file you have downloaded in STEP 1 can be opened and the files in this archive can be placed onto your Micro SSD card.

STEP 3 – Place the Micro SSD card in your BrightSign device

There is a small slot on the BrightSign device that is used for your Micro SSD card.  Make sure you push the card into the slot so that it stays in place. You should push it all the way in and it will release a little and lock in place. When this is done you can turn your BrightSign device on.

Samsung Smart Signage Platform

The SmarterSign Player software can run on Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP) screens using the URL Launcher. When prompted, set the URL Launcher to point to: http://t.smartersign.com

Note: trying to open that url in a web browser will result in a broken link, this is normal.

Connecting the SmarterSign Player To Your Account

The SmarterSign Player software will automatically launch after installed. You will see a screen that contains a “pairing code” that looks like the screen above:

1. Log into your SmarterSign account by going to: https://my.smartersign.com
2. Click the “PAIR NOW” button for your selected SmarterSign Player on the HOME tab in SmarterSign Manager
3. Enter the Pairing Code from the SmarterSign Player and click “PAIR PLAYER”
4. You should see the SmarterSign Player say “Pairing Successful”
5. You are now connected and can publish content to your screen.
